funny thing about hate...its taught, generationally, over time...
i heard this little piece of wisdom a long time ago and it goes something like this:
a child was watching their parent put a roast in a pan and watched the parent cut both ends of the roast, and the child asked "why do you cut both ends before you put it in the pan?"
the parent replied, " I don't know, thats how my mom did it, go ask grandma"
so the child asked their grandma "why did you cut both ends of the roast before you put it in the pan?"
the grandmother replied, " I don't know dear, you should ask grandmama"
so the child asked grandmama "why did you cut both ends of the roast before you put it in the pan?"
And grandmama replied, " because if I didn't cut both ends, the roast would not fit..."
Hate is taught over time, because of issues like control, wanting to stay in power, superiority, insecurities, economics ( i can have nice things, but you can't, because i'm better than you) and other weird thoughts that have been imbedded into us over time....
However, LOVE is taught over time, too..
Love one another, get to know one another and you'll find that there is no room or space for hate.
then we will have made room for empathy and compassion and understanding those who are different than us....
Thats what my elders taught me...
