Hmm. I suppose it could be related to psychological issues, however, I also believe it has to do with one’s culture and upbringing.
I was brought up with the notion that my actions will have an affect on others; I may not see that affect, however, there WILL BE ONE, the “effect”.
For instance, let’s take the spring breakers of this year and their disregard of not staying home. Most were on the news, partying their asses off. Later, because of their affect on others, they passed the virus to others and themselves and “effected” the lives of others, some becoming so sick, and possibly losing their lives.
We can use psychology as a scapegoat of sorts, however, having good common sense (which is lacking) and having a concern for the welfare of others should be paramount, especially when so many live are at stake.
