Same Place, Different Space

…its all about RACE

So, I’m driving along in my car, listening to NPR ( good grief, it sounds like an opening line for a Dr. Seuss book) and there is a conversation with one of the hosts of a podcast and author Jonathan Haidt.

I listened for awhile and was slightly shocked at what was being said.

Mr. Haidt’s proposal was one of incredulous audacity, that we should allow free speech, including some forms of hate speech on college campuses. He seemed very unaware as to the after effects of such rhetoric.

He also proposed that telling students of color that they are entering an institution that has systematically been biased against people of color like themselves and they may experience harassment in different forms ( like micro aggressions) sets these students up for failure and in essence makes them weaker in mind and spirit.

So, I had to find out just a little bit more about this author and his writing partner, Greg Lukianoff.

Uh huh…that’s what I figured.

I really try not to take ones race into consideration, when one writes a book on how other races should be…
