The Great Equalizer

Okay, granted its hard to take someone seriously about their thoughts on a pandemic, as she bathes in a milk and honey solution, surrounded by candles and soft music, while adorned in jewelry.

I get it.

Madonna comes off as insensitive to the plight of the common man/woman/child whose lives have been torn apart by this hideous virus. However, she has had her fair share of pain.

A large influence on Madonna’s early life was her mother, who was diagnosed with breast cancer during her pregnancy with Madonna’s youngest sister. Treatment had to be delayed until the baby reached full term, but by then the disease had grown too strong. On December 1, 1963, at the age of 30, Madonna’s mother passed away. Madonna was only five years old at the time of her mother’s death. The loss significantly affected Madonna’s adolescence. Haunted by the memories of her mother’s frailty and passive demeanor during her final days, Madonna was determined to make her own voice heard. (source)

We’ve seen what this virus has done to many. Each day, we wake up wondering what the death toll will be and where the virus has spiked. We agonize over loved ones we had not spoken to in years. We regret the times we had a chance to make things better between each other and we had not taken that step.

One has to remember that Madonna is 61 years old.

I’m nearing that age soon.

One hopes that one does become reflective in their later years. One realizes that all the money in the world doesn’t make things better, it just makes things more tolerable and easier to deal with when you have that MONEY and what MONEY can access for you.

So, when you find yourself soaking in a warm bath, lit with aromatherapy candles because you have found yourself cloistered in your home with a partner you’re not used to seeing everyday and children who want to know what you are doing in the bathroom…

Remember, cut Madonna some slack.

She’s afraid like everyone else.

Its just her way of showing it.
